A Charlotte, NC, elementary school teacher has been disciplined for a statement on her Facebook page that she taught in "the most ghetto school" in Charlotte. I'm going to guess she was born after 1980, though I can't decide if that's a defense or an indictment.
While she probably shouldn't be posting negative observations about her students on Facebook, her elementary school students shouldn't be on Facebook to see them. In this case, a reporter is the one who unearthed the comment. Heaven only knows how. Perhaps a cruel twist on the Six Degree of Separation group that everyone and their cousin has joined on Facebook.
Postscript: While I was typing and thinking "there, but for fortune, go I," I inadvertently posted this to the Touro Law Center Office of Student Services blog instead of this one. I wouldn't get me fired, but holy smokes, technology can go wrong fast.
